Building Assembled in 6 Days

16-storey hotel build in six days

Watch as workers in China build The New Ark Hotel, breaking construction records by starting with an empty plot in Changsha and leaving the site with a 50m tall building in just 136 hours.

Developer Broad Sustainable Building, who worked until 10pm each night, say the five days and 16 hour construction time is thanks to the use of pre-fabricated parts.
The frame of the 50m building - which is built to withstand a magnitude nine earthquake - took just 46 hours to put together, with the building enclosure taking another 90.

Chinese firm The Broad Group – the company that wowed the construction world last year when it build a 16-storey residential block in just five days – has done it again.
This time, the company has constructed a 30-storey, 17,000m2 hotel tower on the shores of the Dongting Lake in China’s Hunan Province in just 15 days.
The building has been designed to withstand magnitude 9 earthquakes and is claimed to be five times more energy efficient than standard towers, both in construction and materials used, and in the energy required to maintain and run the building.
